Controversial subject - making Traveller from saloon

I will need to change sills , inner rear wheel arches and boot floor edge at least on my saloon when I start the repairs needed for an MOT. It wil also need rear wings and bootlid as they are starting to rot.
I'm therefore taking the car off the road so they can be done properly and will incorportate converting to 1275 / auto at same time also with things like servo, disc brakes etc.
I love my Minor but space is a problem and a van would be better.
Problem I've found with vans it the 4 door sized doors aren't big enough to allow me easy access due to a leg problem.
A recent, further, health shock means I could end up in wheelchair or at least using a mobility scooter in the future so this has made have a rethink and I'm now considering, during the rebuild of my saloon, turning it into a Traveller.
I understand people will probably say sell the saloon and buy a Traveller to restore. This is the sensible thing but that isn't want I want to do.
My budget would include all the wood and alloy panels brand new along with the steel work change from saloon to Traveller
I know others have already done such a conversion but has anyone links to a persons who is willing to give their experiences of doing such ?
Thanks.
