Size of sump plug in sidevalve

Could anyone advise on the size of the plug that fits in the sump of a side valve. I have rebuilt the engine and an 1" plug is to big and a 3/4 to small ! is tje thread parrallel or tapered.

2 Does any one where I can get an original from ?

I think you will find that the hex size is 15/16 A/F, not sure about the thread size without checking but it is parallel with a copper O ring.
It needs someone to turn out a batch in brass. Any volunteers? It is the same as the gearbox filler plug except that the filler plug has a breather hole so don't try using a filler plug in the sump!!!

Or if you have a spare gearbox filler plug- and it fits, you could block the hole up with braze- just an idea!

According to my workshop manual the thread for the gearbox drain plug is 30mm x 2mm pitch. I have been using a gearbox drain plug in the engine sump for many years and can confirm that it fits fine!
