right started on my 54 split.

the paintwork mainly all the body and enginer bay is shot

its reacted badly with something crazed all over.

i'm thinking of having it dipped to remove all the paint any views on this and anyone know a good reasonably priced one around wolverhampton/birmingham way

unless someone can come up with a better idea to bare metal it

pity because someone has spent a lot of money on this new newton interior loads of welding 1275 engine disc brakes

but whoever done it needs shooting.
they've done the sills but haven't cut the old ones out so its rusted badly again

i dread to think whatelse i'm going to unearth

the spray job was even inside the doors and they've masked a line up and stone chipped areas prone to wear ie wheel arches

strange how they've tried really hard but just done it badly

We have had several cars dipped at SPL. The acid dipping is brilliant, but I would not suggest that you just have them etch prime it, push the boat out and have them E coat the whole thing, as this reaches the insides and hidden sides of all box sections, cant rails etc. Its not cheap at about £1800, but is by far the most thorough and long lasting.
Our current customer has had the car initially dipped to reveal bare steel and remove all rust, sealer, paint etc. The car will then be washed in an oil solution, returned to us for welding and structural modification, then returned to SPL for a final dip to remove any surface rust and clean up the welds, then it will be E coated, returned to us and then painted. If you can give me your email details I can send you some pics, :D

By "E coat" do you mean electrolytic galvanising?

Alex the E stands for electrophoretic immersion coating.
Have a look at the web site for more details
