Get Carter Car Park, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear - Final send

Hi, The famous car park at Gateshead, which starred in the 1971 film Get Carter is to be demolished at the end of the year.
It was made in the 1960's and was a "brutalist" design of building. The top level has a huge room that was meant to be a restaurant, it was never used and remains empty to this day. You can only use the first few floors of the car park at present. There is a gate stopping you driving all the way to the top. Underneath the car park is a goods loading area and an indoor market.
I'm currently involved with Gasteshead Council to try and arrange a classic vehicle rally within the car park later this year. The idea is that the car park will have a big send off before it is demolished. The open day / car rally is planned to be a high publicity event, tv, press there etc. It will be a perfect day to show your car off! Hopefully on the day access to the closed off upper levels and restaurant room will be possible.
Gateshead council want it to happen and are currently looking into it. Its not definate yet but I've been asked by them to put the feelers out to the classic car community.
You are all welcome, if it happens would you like to bring yourmorris minors along?
I curently need to compile a data base of willing people. So please let me know.
