can someone advise the best way to remove side ally panels, screws all removed but mastic wont let go where it meets the wheel arch
there from a donor car i have to be sprayed and changed over.

It's just about possible but quite difficult to get the back ones out - there are screws hidden under the wheel arch flange. You can't get the front ones out without taking the side off the vehicle because there are some inaccessible screws behind the foot rail. In hindsight I wouldn't bother trying to get them out unless I was dismantling the whole back end of the vehicle.

Strange, I have the problem of old sealant falling out rather than sticking too well! If it's original (Dumdum) sealant I'd suggest heating it perhaps with a hairdryer, if it's been redone with silicone or similar that won't help and I guess you'll have to use a thin knife blade.

There is a silicon remover/disolver available now, never used it but been told it does what it says on the tube.

another option is to buy some 16 gauge aluminium sheet and cut new ones.

i managed to get one rear one out of mine

but i did cheat as i touched the wood and it fell off

i used the ali for gauge holder in the glovebox easier to cut holes in than stell.

but i will say it was still a pig to get out as it was attached to the rear flange but as its scrap anyway i didn't mind butchering it.

It's just flat aluminium sheet - not expensive to buy and very easily cut to shape.

The front side panels are radius'd and swaged at the button edge. But yes it is just aluminium sheet, not pretending otherwise, just stating that it is available to buy should you wish to.
