[annoying] Weather !!!!!
I was looking forward to going to a car show in Virginia, Co. Cavan today and its [Don't swear or you will be banned - Admin] all day, so needless to say I and Gertie didn't go anywhere today, so really fed up
On the plus side we are going to see Shrek 3 instead, but I think I would prefer to be a field with cars somehow.....

Forecast at Moffat car show today was for heavy rain - drove down there is warm sunshine, and it didn't start to dribble down briefly until lunchtime - and then again at ~ 2pm - so I left!! the field was extremely muddy - obviously going to be 'fun' getting out later.

Sorry, didn't mean too.

My fault for typing what I think.
Many sincere apologies to all members.

Yup, generally for things which aren't swearing though.

I think you've just got to go for it regardless of the weather.
There was a show yesterday about 1/2 mile from me, ( I don't go as it's too close ) and it was abandoned just after 1pm

we had loads of heavy rain & thunderstorms during yesterday and into the night, it even came on the tv last night that there was some serious flooding around the Darlington area of Co; Durham....
The show I went to today I had to drive through Darlington

anyway, I went and drove up to Raby Castle through some quite heavy showers only to find I drove out of the rain

the display field was full of cars & m/cycles and although it was overcast we all walked round in T shirts as it was so warm, great show and it started to rain at 5pm as we were getting ready for the off .. it rained all the way home... at least all the mud was washed off the underside

I went to a show years ago in the rain and the same thing happened, it cleared after a few hours and it was a great show. To begin with there was a sort of die hard attitude of dedicated followers, but it turned out to be a memorable show. Just today it rained solid since 11 and didn't stop so I just felt it would have a been miserable all day and not really worth it. I'll probably hear at the next show that it was brilliant and regret it.

That's usually the case.... I go to Raby Castle every year and last year my mate asked me to go to a different show 40 miles the other way, I went to Raby and it was abandoned about midday due to heavy rain, my mate was sat in glorious sunshine all day

Nope. You certainly can't, you just live and learn. I still can't see how they could have had a show in that weather today, but I'am sure I'll find out soon enough.

I see now from alterations above where the offence lay. Again, I can't apologise enough to members and moderators for any potential offence caused by my poor choice of expletive in titling this thread

. Now I know.

Think good thoughts -- the national will be sunny and dry not a cloud about. the ground will be firm and ..... pigs will fly!!!! with all that flooding over there we wont bother arriving in liverpool and just get the ferry direct to the camp site!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just bring a brolly and the craic will be as good as ever!!!!!

The weather on Malta sounds very like that at the last two nationals - long may it continue to happen in a heatwave

It was raining up here earlier but the sun's just come out. Sheffield got the worst of it.
PS. Can you reduce the size of your signature pic a bit please?

That's a brave statement for anyone in the North of the UK to make at this time, I should think! Six feet of water has not been known to work wonders for the venerable Morris
Thats a funny comment to make from someone who's area of residence remains annonamous
I live in the North East of England an proud of it, and just out of interest Sheffield is 95 mile south of me... I have a lot of sympathy for the people down there who's lives and homes have been devastated and think that your comments are in very bad taste
