Whats the best way to connect the horn push to the wire? Looks like a soldering job????

ah yes you are missing the whole the center insulater, spring and clip.
this is a plastic lengyh that goes in where the wire is, the wire for the horn comes up the centre and then clip, washer, and then when the horn push is inserted it makes contact with the brass bit on the back of the horn push

Aha! That explains it!! Thanks... will have a look and see if I can work out whats missing from the parts catalogue

May be easier to just wire it up to a switch!

I'm sure I don't need to say this but be careful that wire doesn't touch the steering wheel boss or column.
Tape it off or fix it before you drive anywhere, horn blaring.
