Scarlett's turn. Fingers x'd. :o Difficulties foreseen...maybe brakes, they don't seem to give the right pressure at the first press, 2nd press they are a lot harder. Checked reservoir and there's plenty of fluid, maybe they need bleeding or something.

Hey ho.

Check all the brake adjusters are set right (tighten until the drum locks then back off a click). Remember there's two adjusters on each front drum.

Mine are exactly the same.
The adjusters are at their max and despite new shoes cann't lock up the drum when setting them up.
I very strongly suspect the drums have bene skimmed in the past so only answer, for me, is new drums.
At least they are available and cheaply for a quick fix.

Possibly the wrong snail adjusters fitted Paul. The earlier adjusters adjust fully up but only account for about a third of shoe wear. Try them first.

Make sure you pump the breaks after adjusting them, you often find this slackens them again and gives you even more room for adjustment.

As for adjusters, one of mine refused to turn so I forced it. With a 'snap' it moved and now gets its full range of adjustment. I guess it was just caked in dust.

If it makes you feel any better, Rosie failed this year. The front wheel bearings were turning in the hubs, and the discs were found to be distorted

She failed!

Welding required on anti-roll bar. Rear brake slightly binding. Front brakes needed adjusting. Tie bar bushes needing replaced both sides. Advisory - oil leak **Dangerous**.

All now fixed.

PASSED!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Welding required on anti-roll bar.
Well I find that one hard to believe what was the problem.

Anti roll bar is a great big thick bit of metal, surely they meant anti roll bar mountings?
