....Just won't work, neither will the number plate lights. I've checked all the connections, switches and bulbs, there's power getting there but nothing is happening... please help! :(

In my experience, it's generally the earth which is faulty. I've no clue what the earthing arrangement is on a Trav, but check it for corrosion.

there are earths literally everywhere! The wiring is a complete mess as the previous owner has patched bits in with anything that came to hand - in 2ft of wire I was tracing had six sections, each a different colour!
This might take some time...

the earth for the rear lights comes off the bumber bracket in the foot well

and the front has an extra one on a nut and bolt with a double bullet connector through the inner wing

have u checked the wiring under the dash?
if the front are working i'd suggest its that or an earth

check the earth and if not try getting an extra piece of wire connexted to a good earth in the engine bay for instance and touch the earth terminal in the light if it works u know u need a better earth

earths a real prob obviously as its wood make sure they are all clean with no underseal/ goo making a bad contact
