Spraying advice !

Does anyone have any good, straight forward, step by step info on spraying , from prep through to the finished job.I am going to respray one of my moggies over this winter and as a novice would like to know the best way to do it.

How much Cellulose paint, thinners, etc. do I need to buy?
This is the topic, but I cannot link to it , I'm sure a more puta literate chappy can do this bit
