Just bought a 61 Minor 1000 and it fired up fine but after a few seconds stalled. After knocking the fuel pump a little it started again after this allowed a little fuel through to the carb and died again.Does anyone have a pump for sale ?

Try cleaning the points first by drawing a piece of card between them, and if that doesn't fix it then fit a replacement points set. No need to replace the whole pump.

Yep - it's just oxidised points, if Alex's card trick doesn't do it - use fine wet/dry paper.

Took pump off today, cleaned it up, cleaned the points , blew the crap from the filter and the inside, refitted, started straight away and ran like a dream.
