No release bearing!

Post by dunketh »

That's right.
None at all!

Took the lump out last night with the other 2 Amigos (Packedup and a local mate, Ian) only to find a 'vacant' fork.

Not only had the bearing worn away to dust - the metal it sits in had done the same.
All we found were two 'stubs' still sat in the fork with a paper thin slither of metal attached to one of them. :o

You had to laugh.

The fork itself had some scoring and damage on its two prongs and the retianing clips had one side worn down to nothing - so they were Cs instead of Os.

Madness!
Anyway, alls well that ends well. (even if it did mean pinching Packed up's retaining clips from his spare box)
What would Macgyver do..?

Must have been noisey while that was happening - but the reason is in your other post - where the clutch pedal has been siezed to the shaft and not clearing the clutch - just like resting your foot on it - heavily!
