Treatment of Ash on the Minor

Advice needed for the wood that is used on my pick-up over the can roof for the tilt…………it is ash so I need to treat it what is best to use before it gets exposed to the elements? It is new timber, so what do you traveller owner’s use?

Cuprinol clear wood preservative, then either Danish Oil or one of the two pack micro-porous varnishes made by Sikkens or Burgess.

Is that Danish 'Teak' oil? or just Danish oil, will give it go next weekend

I think Teak Oil is a different blend which gives a slightly glossier finish.

or tung oil which is a more refined danish oil

ypu can get tung oil from any decoraters warehouse, or brewers, or maybe local diy shops, it is fairly common but is better than danish oil and of course a little bit more expensive
