This morning the postman has bought a parcel of parts I'd ordered which includes a new chrome hockey stick grill trim as one of the originals has been broken ever since one of I bought my car.
I've just been looking and wonder if it's been manufactured correctly.
With it lying down flat, and the studs upright, the one on the end of the curved section is vertical with the other two on the straighter section at an angle.
This seems strange to me but seeing I havne't removed the old one don't know if this is how they are supposed to be.
Is this correct or have I been sent a duff part ?

I'm sure mine are all at 90 degress to the metal stick. Although whether theres a bend in the stick itself that would change the angles I dont remember.

Paul this is normal for new hockey sticks, but I doubt if the originals were at quite such an angle. The one on the curve is a real pain to get the nut on in situe, and can often foul the inner flitch, due to excess length.

I'm the sort of person that always gets the item that is broken in the post, is the one out of a 1000's that is faulty, packs up the day after the guarantee expires etc so wondered if it had happened again !

Hi,
I just bought two new ones for my moggy, from BM. The offside one fits perfectly but the nearside one is, (as you say) the top stud is at an angle and is very close to the inner flitch panel. Not quite sure what to do with it as its impossible to screw on the nut. The only thing I can think of is to start bashing at the inner flitch t try and give me some clearance, but I really don't want to do that.

Offer up the hockey stick so the threads are just through the wing/front panel, spimn on the nuts then push the stick fully home, you should then just get on it with a spanner 1/4 turn at a time. (forgot ,don't forget the penny washers)

GRRRRR! Why don't suppliers give you everything when you buy things. Seems to me everything I have bought from the main minor parts suppliers, I have to buy nuts, bolts and washers to fit them.

Its very frustrating.

Specially when they trick you by supplying fine metric instead of UNF, BSF common trick on the striker plates and peg and sockets.

to the uninitiated what is a "hockey SticK" ?

The curved chrome pieces either side of the grill.
