Minor Seats
Have noticed on our minor that the drivers seat tilts back further than the passenger seat which does not allow a good driving position. The seat angle is too far back inclined. If I was to block it up it would be at same angle/height as the passenger seat. Is this normal or am I missing something

Thanks for that Have found the slider but whatever position I move it to The rake of the seat is always further back than the passenger seat. Unless a rather large person sat in it at some time
perhaps the frame has been bent backwards. But the problem is if I lift seat forward ie pivot it as though allowing access to the rear then I can match the rake of the other seat

That's what I did on Maggie - I just stuffed a few bits of folded cardboard under the rear supports to give a better driving position.

You can get blocks like these from the big suppliers to tilt the seat a bit.

This message board is like a family - you can't choose the other members!! But remember engine oil is thicker than water.
And maybe they'd spread the load slightly and stop the floor cracking as mine has recently
Mind you, I think that's more due to the seat frame being distorted in my case and one side only touching the floor if you're sitting on it (bump, bump, bump...crack!)
On a slightly more relevant note I noticed when I replaced the cover that the back of mine has been welded and also reclines a bit more than the passenger side probably due to this repair.

Sounds very similar to mine, am re-stuffing the seat at the moment, and found it is more inclined that it should be! Repaired at some time in the past, and slightly out of square. Maybe the car could tell some amourous tales from it's past? No footprints discernible on the dash or windscreen mind you........

i use a block of wood under the runners also, especially when the missus is driving as she can't see over the steering wheel otherwise. but, i also need my seat(s) stuffing, so how do you go about this dominic? i guess it's slightly more sophisticated than stuffing old newspapers in there. or isn't it?Dominic wrote:Sounds very similar to mine, am re-stuffing the seat at the moment, and found it is more inclined that it should be! I stuffed mine with the contents of old pillows. I then made a 'base' using a carpet tile. This is all on top of the original naffed-up rubber straps which are looser than... well anyway...
You can buy new seat foam and all the parts to do a really nice proper job from various suppliers. Its not expensive either - though the flippin covers are!

What would Macgyver do..?
