I have given up on the idea of using a secondhand servo after find the one I already had was in poor internal condition.
I've seen this on ebay as it seems a very good price -

I have read the aution details that the proper one for a Minor is £79 and not the £69 of the "Buy Now"
Anyone any comments, opinions etc on these before I buy one ?
I have no problem installing, making brake pipes etc .

1.6 boost, probably hardly worth it? guess its ok for the mg which is smaller and lighter and where you are simply replacing an existing non-working servo.

also given that he says the kit is not included, that means things like mounting bracket as well as hoses etc, by the time you have found/bought/made these you might as well have spent the extra 10 to get the rest of the kit and the better boost factor.

I agree if you are considering the £69 option but if you read the auction detail you will see, like I said in my original message, that the cost for a Minor is £79.
That is for a 1:9 ratio servo, brackets and pipes.

I'd go for the £79 one as it has the brackets (as well as being more powerful). Having looked at the price of the brackets seperately it doesn't seem at all worth paying not much less for less stuff and less boost.

I bought a servo a few weeks ago that was bin fodder, cost 30 quid all in. Thought I'd have one last try, got another for 25 in p&p and it came with brackets and pipes (MGB ones though, not long enough for my use) and it looks to be in very good condition. So I think there are good s/h bargains to be had, but it's all totally down to luck.

I ordered one of the servo kits and it has been delivered this morning.
Total cost, with P&P, was £88.50 - which is still cheaper than I've seen servo kits offered by any of the Minor parts specialists.
It's a Powertune branded item and label states "Made in England".
Comes with comprehensive instructions that confirm the applications that include the Minor.
Overall I'd recommend the supplier on price and prompt delivery.

That seems a very good price. Makes you wonder how come other suppliers charge in the region of £120 plus P&P.
One query though, I always thought the ones from Minor suppliers WERE the same as MGB ones.

Rob, I wouldn't have thought that the MGB was smaller and lighter than a Minor.
