Hi everyone.
I've just had to buy bootwell panel rp149 but need to know how much of the back body work bumpers etc I need to remove to affect a decent repair. It's a '63 traveller/pickup.my goal is to have it ready to take to the victory wheelers show at broadlands in romsey 20th-22nd july.
Also is there anyone in the southampton area who can help me learn to weld as I would like to do more work myself. thanks Richard

when i do the footwell i always remove the petrol tank and the rear bumper complete from inside the boot,if you got a welder get some spare metal like an old door and keep practicing thats the best way to learn although advice is always helpfull.Also cover yor fuel pipe end as this gives off fumes....good luck..glyn

get the panel BEFORE you cut anything out.

its a nightmare cutting a hole and then the new panel is too small for the hole.

i;ve just done the rear bootwell on my trav and it was surprising easy seeing as tho it was quite a large panel.

one piec of kit i bought which was well worth the £50 odd was a metal sheet cutter which goes in your electric drill from machine mart.

no good for straight cuts unless you use a straight edge clamped to the material.
but brill for cutting out sheet saves the hand and the tin cutters.
