Definative answer needed, guage of LCV chassis please.

I'm going to buy the steel for my chassis on friday, and I'm not sure which guage to buy. Reading through old threads I'm seen reference to 16 and 18 guage. Is there much difference in thickness and price between the two?

The gauge of the section around the funny U shaped X member is 18 - I've measured it.

18 gauge is about 1.2mm and 16 gauge is about 1.5mm.

if in doubt- go for slightly thicker!

Can you grind the rough edges off the slightly thicker ones then? ;)

Thanks for the info, I've ordered the 16 guage to be on the safe side.
£44 delivered to my door, including have two cuts done on it.
