Hi
I have just bought my first Morris.Just a very basic question all my spanners are A/F or metric do I need to get a whitworth set? I seem to remember that BSW sizes are slightly different to A/F. I dont want to round any heads!
Thanks
John

I stole your Laser??
No, its one thing I've got a bit of a bugbear about- using the right size tools- trying to use AF ad Metric tools to undo Whitworth head size fixings will just round the heads off- in most cases- I koe, been there and done that, got the right tools- now much easier.
1/4 whitworth (5/16BSF) is particularly good to have sockets and spanners in this soze as it cops up all over the Minor.

John,
The engine, gearbox and rear axle themselves are UNF/UNC and need the AF spanner sizes. Anything to do with the body, including bits attached to it are BSF, which uses the BSW (Whitworth) range of spanner sizes.
Note that the BSW size is always one down from BSF - 5/16" BSF uses the same spanner as 1/4" BSW and so on.
