Roof bars

I'm desperate for decent roof bars to fit my saloon.
I've got some old, commercial / van, type that fit but they are getting rusty and take ages to attach.
I'm after modern, single handwheel style, attachment for quick intallation and removal.
Ideally I fancy something like the Thule (I understand they are dear) set up but cann't find listed on their application guide what parts I'd need.
What about Halfords - do they list Morris Minor saloon or can anyone tell me what they found fitted.
Any other recommendations ?

Paul if your looking at Halfrauds for roof bars go for the mini ones, ther is enough adjustment to widen them enough for the minor.

Acouple of the specialists do the complete roof racks but I dont know about roof bars.

I tried an old style roof rack that fitted my A35 and the legs were too short to reach the gutter so it just rocked on the "dome " !
The old roof bars I have fitted a Land Rover and are just about right. The legs are nearly 7".
I went to Halford the other night but no Minor listed and only Thule available with the longer legs.
Looks like it's going to be the dearer rack after all :(
I need to move timber for various DIY projects and also carry my small dinghy (7,' fibreglass and lightweight).
I'm going to make a simple attachement (like a huge "T") for the tow bar out of a KeeKlamp fitting so that I can have additonal support from it for longer loads.
A small trailer is great for heavy loads but when it comes to 3m lengths of timber a roof rack is far better.:)

The problem with the Minor is the high dome of the roof.
Thats why only the specialist sell them due to the small numbers of them that are sold.
Looks like you will have to go down the even dearer route Paul.

Depending on the type of metal, what about an angle grinder and a welder?

I've been thinking that myself. :)
The bars are galv'd but starting to rust at the contact point with roof so a coat of paint would make a big difference.
The rubber feet have gone missing years ago so I use pieces of old inner tube that is a pain so I need to see if i can find something that is more "user friendly".
The clamps are held on by Whit / BSF bolts. These too have got lost so currently I've got studs (Reliant sump items !) that have AF thread at other end.
I'm thinking of drilling the thread out and welding in 6mm studding so hand wheels can be used
