hi to evryone
i have just beome a member, and have just bought myself a 1098 minor to do up,it needs a fair amount of welding,(im going to start that weekend)the engine smokes and oils up number 4 plug, and i think the lower ends rummbling,i have managed to get hold of a good engine that ive heard running, for 100 pound, does that sound too steep??bodys not bad, insides ok,i need two sunvisors and clips, and the seat straps have broken.the worst thing is i cannot open the boot,it was ok now its jammed, and cant get in through the inside as i have screwed the rear seat in place. :( any ideas here would be good.thanks all
lee

Try pushing on the boot lid whilst turning the handle. If the worst happens and you cannot get in then drift out the pins in the boot hinges and open it this way, if your carefull the pins will go back in.

Hi Lee, http://homepages.gotadsl.co.uk/~jgm/ekmm/dibble.htm is the link to how I did rear chassis extendion on one side and front spring hanger on the other on "Dibble" the convertible.

got me boot open, took all the interior out, more welding.
put a piece of chassie in,went in well, had to remove all the torsion bar and exhaust, cutting the old one out was worst, and making sure it was all lined up,now its the inner sills :( the worring thing with this it not long went for a mot,and they only picked up on 2 bits of welding, and the cars hanging, holes everywhere.no advise sheet either..shocking

Yuo can look up the details (and any missing 'advice') on the MOT website.
I cant remember the URL but all you do it put in the ticket number and your reg number and it shows everything that came up at the last MOT.

To be honest though I've seen bits of metal plate glued over holes with sealant and seam sealed around the edges get a car through an MOT - you cant take them as any kind of guarantee. :(
