thanks Kevin, yes I was aware that Minor Mania use a bodyshop, the last bit of work they did was very good, I just cant justify the prices. I am sure it can be done cheaper with still a good match. If you come up with anyone please let me know.
many thanks

I have been recommended 3
1st, Bushey Bodycare, 7 Bushey Hall road, Watford, 01923 249370
2nd, W T Boroughs, the bodyshop, Colonial Way, 01923 255244 (these are aparently MG owners club recommended)
3rd from a work colleague who has work done by them over quite a period of time, only drawback he does not have the company name or phone number but they are at 12 Mount Pleasant Lane, Bricket Wood ( do you still live in St Albans ) its the end that coming from St Albans when you take the turning for the M1 London bound, Mount Pleasant Lane is the only turning (left) off the slip road and they do not mind cash in hand work, do you want me to try and get more details ?

Kevin,
thanks very much - this gives me lots of choices. dont worry about find the details, I'll drive down there and check them out (if I dont go with one of the others). I have actually moved to harpenden now. I'll let you know how I get on.
I couldnt find anyone who even had a clue of where to go.

Kevin an update, finally had the panels sprayed and have fitted. went with 2nd, W T Boroughs, the bodyshop, in the end. Reasonable price, 3 wings and 2 valences for £400 notes, including stone chip on the inside. The quality of 4 of the peices was very good. the front valence was dissapointing, but I didnt notice when I picked it up. It has a bit of orange peel on it, must have been the first one they sprayed. I would probably use them again to be fair they were helpfull.
Thanks again for the contacts, I dont the chance to come to the branch meetings, so the forum keeps me going for bits I need to know.
regards
H

Hugh, did that price include all primer / undercoat etc, or just the top coats?

Also, if anyone else in the Herts area is in need of a good cheap paint shop, there's a coach works in Dunstable who do whole cars very cheap! I can't remeber their name, but there can't be many in Dunstable...
