I am just about to start reassembling my pick-up and need some advis eon brake pipes. I have a Midget disc brake conversion, bu the flexi pipe from teh caliper to the copper will not join. Anyone know what i meed to do?
What couplings do I need?

Pretty sure Midget stuff is all 3/8" unf for the brake pipes - same as Minor front end (but NOT Minor rear axle!). Check the threads out using say a bleed nipple from a Minor front wheel cylinder. Of course there could be male -female connection problems - in which case - change either the flexi to suit - or the brake pipe end. 'Copper' is not a good idea - it work hardens (at bends and ends) and cracks after a while - far far better to use the correct Kunifer brake pipe.

I have asked a major brake fittings supplier about the merits of copper brake pipe, their answer was that its a perfectly good material to use so long as the % of copper is high. Apparently cheap copper pipe has % of other metals which can lead to the symptoms described by BM above. We normally offer a choice to customers, but are perfectly happy to supply and fit either.

I came acros an old brake pipe on the front of my Minor - had been there since I got it - started to unscrew the end and the 'copper' pipe just sheared straight off with virtually no force applied whatsoever. Kunifer costs nothing more, doesn't fatigue and doesn't rot - it's a 'no brainer' !
