Replacing gearbox

Do not be tempted to use the two top engine/gearbox bolts to bring home the two units. This part of the belhousing is furthest away from the shaft and on a wide flange and suseptable to cracking.

Is this the voice of bitter experience ?? On the upside - I think it will still be ok to use the gearbox without that top part - not ideal - but useable.

It's just what I discovered when removing the bolts from mine.
