Hi, can anybody advise me on how to neatly fit two Rover 100 seats into my two door 1968 Morris 1000?
Can the existing mounting holes be used? Do you have to fabricate a new base to bolt the new seat to?
I have a rough idea how to do it, I thought somebody might be able to point me in the right direction.
Newton commercial use these seats and have a very neat subframe that bolts to the original seat mounts. Two additional holes are required at the back of this subframe
i'm not sure they sell the subframe separate but if you don't ask....
Long bolts go through the four holes in the seat runers, through the wood and then through the floor where they're attached underneath with nuts and very big square washers to spread the load.
The width of wood decides how high you sit. You can slide the seats back and forward using the original sliders. Jobs a good un.
Of course it looks crap, means drilling four dirty great holes in each floorpan and isnt as strong or easy to do as proper subframes. (which I keep promising myself I will buy a set of one day...)
