Hello - ive a 1968 Moggie 1000 (Annie), shes been in a garage for 12 months and her pump is poorly and she wont start. im not mechanically minded, i would like to get her started so I can get her MOT'd and sell her, we are off to australia in a couple of months, so im afraid she will have to go.

Im desperate for a helpful moggie enthusiast to mend the pump or show me how to do it - i will provide beer/tea/pies/wine etc etc and money if it is going to cost you.

Please help!! Im in Lancashire area

Wendy

first off try hitting it with a spanner

seriously, if it is just stuck points that may be enough to free it off and you cen tell the buyer that it will need attention.

PROBLEM IS THAT A FRIENDLY OLD PERSON PULLED THE THING OFF AND THEN WANDERED OFF SAYING 'YOUR PUMPS BROKEN!'

I DONT KNOW WHO HE WAS!!

I could take a look at it for you if you bring it to my workshop in Nelson this weekend (the pump that is, not the whole car ;).

OH YES PLEASE!!

THINKING ABOUT IT NOW, IM NOT SURE IF THE WHOLE PUMP IS OFF, BECAUSE HE WAS FIDDLING WITH SOME WIRES AND SAYING THAT THEY WERE DISINTEGRATING, AND I THINK THIS OTHER BLOKE (A LONG STORY!!) STUCK IT BACK ON, BUT I HAVE FOUND ANOTHER PUMP IN THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT, IF I BROUGHT THAT COULD YOU TELL ME IF IT WAS OK OR NOT? AND THEN HOW TO FIT IT??

If you bring both pumps I'll take a look at them. I've sent you a PM with my location.

No problem, I can still take a look at the pumps if you want to arrange a time when I'll be here. Me going out to you would be impractical right now as I have no transport and too much to do (I'm trying hard to get Fenchurch back on the road before the end of May).

Have you tried simply fitting the spare pump? It would be a bit pointless you bringing it here if there's nothing wrong with it.
