Number plate light

My 1955 Series Two saloon has a chrome rear no. plate light. Is this correct or should it be black?

I think it should be black, but they do look very nice indeed!

Black ones were fitted as standard. However chrome ones were available.

With one or two bulbs?

My '57 Minor has only one bulb in the number plate lamp.

Mine has two bulbs. I think I'll stick with the chrome as I think it blends in better than black.
