Dissapointing morning :-(

At last I actually managed to view the local pick-up.
I was told roughly- refit an engine and it'd be back on the road plus it had a fibreglass hardtop that was a very good copy of the original item.
Before I even got out of the car I knew it wasn't for me.
It had been "customised".
Sunshine roof, modified dash, joints smoothed off with thick filler, plates welded everywhere, Ford pedal box (poorly fitted), chassis repaired with 1/4" plate and 2" angle iron etc. No interia and obviously open to elements for several years.
The "hardtop" was a fibreglass cab back !
No identity - not even no. plates to allow duplicate V5 to be obtained.
The only thing that I could see that would be of use to me was the rear shock lower mounts - everything else scrap :(

I was very dissappointed but it was my own fault as I expect too much based on telephone description
At least it was only a couple of miles away.

I tried to avoid looking too much and certainly didn't want a photo record :(
It was embarrasing as the seller didn't see it as the same heap as me so I had difficulty in tactfully saying it wasn't what I was after.
