I may or may not have a garage to put my Traveller in next winter - if not, any recommendations for an all-weather outdoors cover? (And I mean all-weather - I live 900 ft above sea level....!)

I think the best ones are the Garage style tent type of structure that can be anchored to the ground and you open up one end and drive in and close it up, here is an example.

Must be a garage - nothing else is any use. Unless you can get a museum to take it in - on display through the winter.

Surely a cover must mitigate SOME of the ravages of the weather?.........

Not quite sure on this one, some garages could possibly cause more problems than would be the case if the car was simply left outside. In my view, probably the best solution is a good carport. It protects the car from the worst of the elements, whilst still allowing the air to circulate.

Why don't you make yourself a "car coffin".....

See here Image

You can just see one for a friends kit car here behind him. His is hidden in the trees, I imagine you'd want it a bit prettier if it was more visible...

He pushes it in there & simply pulls it back out although you could make it wide enough for a door.

They count as a temporary construction so no need for planning permission & would be cheaper than a tent.

My Kit car is outside now, I just use a cheap Halfords cover with some extra anchors. The fact that it's not a tight fit means it get plenty of "blow through" to keep out the damp.
