Repairing the Floor!

Hi,
I think I am going to buy a 'half floor with inner sill step' as my floors aren't 100% in places.
Could anyone please tell me the best way to tackle this? Do I have to remove the complete floor? If so what is the best way to do this? I can email pics to anyone if it helps.
