Can anyone tell me what closes off the void made by inner wing, door hinge panel and hinge panel cover panel? The sills have been renewed in last 3 years but it doesn't fully fill gap. Obviously I will have to make a panel up. Just wondered what SHOULD be there.

At the bottom of the door hinge area? Not sure what you mean by void.
Could you post a photo so we can see which bit is missing.

blue peter style:
(a bit of a sill repair montage I did 18 months ago - if you ignore the 2 pics in the middle showing the rear sill, the rest should be useful.)

Inside the door post the boxing plate is hidden therefore needs fixing first. In the door opening I left the boxing plate (inner piece with the round holes) until last. As I was on a strict time scale on that job, I just replaced just the bottom of that part of the boxing plate (with 3mm angle iron) but it's neater to replace the whole thing. The boxing plate is the most crucial part of the sill and needs to have a good repair which attaches to the undersill.
As this isn't seen by the MOT man it is often forgotten but that leaves a weak and fairly useless sill stucture.
