Something growing in the carpet fungi or dry rot???

Post by dp »

On pulling up the overmat on the driver's side, I've noticed a web like fungus stuff growing and that it's very damp under the mat. I was binning the carpets anyway but is whatever's growing in it going to affect the now damp sound deadening felt? I.e. Should the sound proofing be binned and replaced or are there now spores/mould/grief waiting to come back to life?

Put the undermatting in an old cotton pillowcase and put it through a 60 degree wash in the twin-tub ;)
