A test of one's character.

Post by RogerRust »

Last night my car and my son's car were keyed on all doors and panels including the roof. 4 or 5 cars done in the village.

Oh well such is life thank goodness for protected bonus and a lowish excess.
Still its only a car - however if someone ever does that to the Morris it will be a real test!

oh roger i'm so sorry to hear that you and your son have been victims of some simian lowlife. as you say, it's a test of character - whereas if it had been a minor it would have been appropriate for it to have been a test of the edge of an axe

i hope your insurance company plays ball and that whatever did this is quickly caught and returned to whichever cage in the zoo it escaped from. :D

We need a remote island to send this sort of lowlife to.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

There's one just off the coast of Essex - I went there on holiday once without realising what it was like - a salutary experience. Enough said :D The burnt out Cortina next to the camp site entrance should have given me a clue... :o

Sorry to hear that Roger. Some people are clinically stupid indeed.

I don't want to sound sanctimonious, but the best thing to do is let it go. Otherwise I'd be the one who suffered with anger and blood pressure and was a pig to live with. So for me, anyway, a shrug of the shoulders will do for now.

I once met a guy who had been for "a swim in the south atlantic" when the Sheffield was sunk during the Faulklants war, nothing ever upset him. He said it put it all in perspective.
For me that moment was lying on the A6 with a broken leg and a double decker bus coming my way with smoke coming off the tyres.

Sorry to hear that, having damage done to one's car is upsetting - I had to replace a wing mirror on the Peugeot last weekend because some twit snapped it off. To be honest, replacing a wing mirror on the Minor would have been easier, as it wouldn't have involved a trip to a scrap merchant's and two hours taking the damned thing apart and fitting it back together (an internal part was missing from the replacement mirror)!

Ho-hum, like you say, you just have to take it on the chin and try to retain your dignity. Hope the insurance company's okay with it all.
