Hi folks

As I've been out of action for a while please forgive me if this is an inappropriate question on here.

My insurance is up for renewal this month and as my previous one was rather expensive [will not be named] I wonder if anyone has any ideas for another please.

Also breakdown cover? Tend to go for fully comp' with my ol' beast.

PM me please.

Mine is with RH - ~£80 for the year with UNLIMITED mileage and free recovery to base in case of major breakdown.

I'm with Footman James - I've had two major at-fault accidents, and my current car is valued at around three thousand, and they're covering me fully comp for one hundred and twenty pounds. Always ring them, though, don't bother going through the website as it always comes out ridiculously more expensive than the deals they can give you over the telephone.

We're with RH too - £54 for two of us, fully comp, on the Trav. Never (touch wood) had to claim so can't comment on that area, but a few people I know are also with them.

Cheers

hi squiggle, hope you are soon back to normal again :D

My insurance needs are a bit "special" due to the van being a) a ridiculous colour, and b) off the road while it's restored - so probably not comparable.

About breakdown companies though, I joined ETA on the advice of a good friend who had found them cheap and extremely efficient. Haven't had to use them so far. If you contact them, please tell them I recommended you! They are very "green". http://www.eta.co.uk

sorry, you didn't think we would allow that did you!

This input was against the T&C it was both a negative criticism and could be seen as an advert.

OK, I'll have another go.

Thanks for all the replies and welcomes.

Waiting for RH to call with a quote.

Sounded friendly and efficient.

Even gave me a cheaper number to call:

01277 206911.

[ FJ renewal = £221.56 = too much right now]

That's a rather unfortunate name for a company

Thats quite a bit Chrissie, I have 2 cars on my FJ policy and its only £120 and you live in a cheaper insurance area than me.

Hi Kevin,

I understand it is because I am only insuring one car and that it is my daily car. [Does include full RAC cover at a discount of £50]. I don't know what discount is included by belonging to the MMOC.

Looking forward to hearing from RH

I'd give RH another call...should not take this long for them to get back to you....remember that they are not there at the weekends...so get back onto them....I think you will be pleased with what they have to offer....well, I hope so...fingers crossed.. :D

Good Luck !!!
