These charts are unique and I am not keen to post to Oz..............I can e mail but these scanned would not be suitable to get paint mixed. The chart/swatch is as member on here Tom Stafford has an ex Oz Minor in the UK and he had a glovebox lid and we matched the colour to the chart and had paint mixed and the car was painted......................

E mail me with what colour you require and I will scan but I would not mix colours from it

Sorry, i didn't mean to Physically post to Oz :-? Thanks for your information otherwise! Would you use the inside of the Glove box lid due to it not fading ?? I would still be interested in the scanned version just to see whether you have to colour. Because as i said in a previous post none of the places here in Oz have a chart with the colour on it.

Cheers,

Ashton

Hi there,

I hope this thread is also for the interior. What's the correct red on the seats for a 1957 black four door? My Milly needs a complete set of leather covers. Is it Cherokee Red or Maroon or what else could it be?

Thanks, Frank

I have a car of similar age and the same colour interior. It is fairly bright red as all Minors with a red interior were at that time. The maroon interior came later (1959?) and was current for 2 or 3 years. Cherokee Red is very bright and was the last shade of red to be used when the heatformed vinyl covers were introduced for 1964. Cherokee Red will be too bright for your car and Maroon will be too dark. I have tried to order trim parts for my own car and Newton Commercial were not able to supply anything close - unless they now have a wider range? They were helpful in sending samples.

Personally, I would employ a trimmer to make the new covers using correct coloured material if you cannot get the correct covers ready made.

I see there is a tear in the driver's seat but, depending on the condition of the other seats, it may be possible to mend that, give the seats some leather feed and re-colour the seats. I had a small tear in one of mine and took the cover off, glued a patch under it, used some leather repair filler on the cracks (something like this https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Heavy ... gLHCPD_BwE) and then re-coloured it with a kit from Woolies - https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/category ... renovation They now look like old seats in good condition.
Of course, if the seats are too badly damaged that may not be possible.

Those seats are no worse than mine were and I solved the drivers seat problem by getting a similarly knackered seat and getting a trimmer to use the seat back to sitcom in to the seat, Same otter, same patina. I have since done as was suggested above and used woolies leather paint. The transformation is remarkable. You can pick up replacement orignal seats on e bay or one of the fB Morris sites although they are not cheap.

If they are sagging it will be due to the dunlopillo foam degrading - easily cured
