What amperage fuse required for a time clock?

Hi folks
I am fitting a Smiths clock, quartz movement, otherwise looking "of the era". I am running the supply from the constant feed (purple wire) but want to run the supply via an inline fuse. Has anyone any idea what amperage fuse is required? I am presuming 5 or even less here, am I right?

Many thanks

Dom

Way less. Use the smallest you can find.

Thanks Alex
I think I have a 1 amp somewhere that'll do!

The fuse is mainly to protect the wiring. Make sure you put it as close to the point you tap into the feed as possible, and make the feed up to the point where the fuse is as thick as the wire you are joining to (so the existing fuse protects that bit). The clock itself will take a tiny current, otherwise it would flatten the battery. a 1 amp is fine.

I have taken a feed from where the purple wire joins onto the purple/white feeding the courtesy light switch, using a double bullet connector in lieue of the single that was there. The fuse comes immediately after that. I reckon that should do the trick!
In case anyone is interested, I modified a standard glovebox surround by cutting some 1mm steel plate to fit the aperture, cutting three 52mm holes in it to suit the clocks. I then made up some epoxy filler paste, and set the plate on a bed of that, filling in any slight gaps. Once it was sprayed up to match, it looked as if it came straight from the factory! :D
