I don't know whether this is the right place put this, apologies if not.

If its of interest to anyone here I have over 100 original prints of technical drawings from Morris Ltd. Mostly from the 50's and 60's, I have put 50 of them for sale on ebay. They're all stamped with release date from the drawing office. What parts and vehicles they relate to I have no idea :-?

Do the drawing not have a description or a name of what they are? Anything relates to the Minor LCV, Commercials or vans and pick-ups I will buy from you....................

Please advise

...and there was me thinking that the vans and pick-ups were both commercials AND LCVs :D

They're period prints from the drawing office (original prints not drawings) that were, i presume, hung on the shop floor, the date stamps over the prints, are of the time and proper stamps not part of the print. They really are incredible to look through and some of them do mention the relationships you've mentioned, but most are part specific so I guess it would take somebody who knows the relationship to answer that.

There's so many and to be honest I don't know what half of them are. I've got six or so in front of me, I can describe the information on them, if that will help? but maybe it would be better if you tell me what I'm looking for? I've seen references to vans and minors on them and will gladly take a look through if some one can tell me what i'm looking for.

here's the specs for the six i've got down, if it'll help? but remember there's over a hundred all together so it would take a while to answer properly. These were picked up because they were top of the pile.

1. Part No. ACH4041 (stamped 2 April 1954) Morris Motors ltd Cowley Oxford. Model D.O.988 MG Car Co. T&T branch

2. Part No. 102322 (stamped 28 Feb 1952) Morris Motors ltd B'ham. Rear Axle Tube. Model Riley 2 1/2 Litre

Probably doesn't help does it :-? maybe I'll try take a look through the rest tomorrow to see what I find.

Hello Trev

E-mail tomorrow on Russ@MinorLCVreg.co.uk

No5 mention Morris 1/4 ton van , that is a Minor LCV, later ones would have 6cwt and 8cwt van (or even 5 cwt) but thats what I need exactly that in 5, but ANYTHING THAT bears this I am interested in

I'll try to have a look through and get back to you. from the brief look i've had 90% of them are from 54 - 66 and then there's a handful from the late 60's early 70's. I'll post up tomorrow.

Is this not the sort of thing the club ought to buy and store for the benefit of all of us?

Or am I missing the point here?

Seconded (or thirded) let's have the whole lot at Derby for the benefit of everyone. We can then sort out the Riley stuff (unless it's got front brakes  ) and pass it to relevant club. Can all officials please note and act.

I believe that someone will need to email or write to a member of the committee and ask the question. The topic can then be raised at the next meeting ,which I believe to be next week.

Unfortunately it is true that not many of the committee use the website, but in this case you could always email Bryan Gostling

But do ask him not to outbid me if anyone speaks to Bryan, I have had that problem in the past,

I will write it down here and now, if I win I will personally present all of the Morris Minor related material to the Club.
