Actually I should think of it as an investment.
Son's Corsa passed its MOT, but this week end we have to replace the cam belt, repair the plastic and aluminium radiator and replace the sump pan because its rusted through and is leaking oil.

I don't remember doing any of those jobs on the Morris!!

If it's the three cylinder / 1000cc then the engines have an average lifespan of less than 50000 miles !
I think it's the cams which are the weak point.

Actually its 8 valve 1200. Paul.
Got it all done in the day, Radiator, cambelt and sump.
As always there were a couple of poblems. One of the blots connecting the exhaust to the manifold wouldn't shift, So I had to take the exhaust apart from the back forwards and put it back together afterwoods. And the crankshaft pully nut has a star drive tork type head, but fortunatley my local traditional car accessory shop had an E18 star socket and sells them singly rather than in sets so it only set me back £2.45.
There a very nice brown 1000 van parked outside the shop nicely sign written for a local finacial services company. I was pleased to see that they had made a good investment.

Oh by the way, I twisted my back working on the Corsa and the blinking Citroen has blown a head lamp bulb which means taking the bumper off to fix so thats another weekend with no work on the Morris.
