How thick do these spacers need to be ? got some 1/8 alloy plate and got a lathe . I have been fitting up these disk brakes for a couple of months but got held up for a spell in hospital . Tried a wheel on for the first time today and it does bind a bit

It must depend on which system you have installed I assume so the only sure way would be to experiment with spacers(washers?) until you get clearance and then add on an amount to be sure. 1/8" is thinner than the spacers on my set-up.

You must make sure the wheel nuts still engage the full length of the thread - so if you add much more than 1/8" I suspect you will also need longer studs.

Not if the kit comes with longer studs in the first place, as they should with a properly engineered set up  The spacers are 5mm.

You would think if it needed spacers and longer studs they would come with the kit!!
