why is it that when you first mention getting a moggy you get people offering to help restore....but when you have it...where are they!! One of the people have even moved!!!

The other person is now starting to think i have a mental problem! Any way rant over, got to set up tent outside his house.

Bev, come to the next East Kent branch meeting (see our feature in Minor Monthly) we'll give you encouragement, as possibly help!
I think you need to ask the right people.

lol.. I gave up trying to find mates to do bodywork years ago. Them that'll have a go are terrible and them that are any good are always busy.
That said I always get a mate to do my brakes and do the mechanical stuff myself so its not all bad.

You can't expect people to work for nothing!

Of course you can - thats why all my mates have installed caller ID and shudder when the phone rings.

Its the time of year Bev.
Do you enjoy working on old cars

my " friend " using the term loosely now! is a professional welder ( out of a job ! ) lives 5 doors down, he was very keen on doing it, i even took him when i brought the car, and he said it was no problem. And that he was looking forward to getting on with it. im not afraid to have a go, and i dont expect it for nothing, but when i am out there, he will briefly come up, say " hows it going?" then wonder off?!!!

my mother is even cowering now, as i asked her to recover my seats for me...but on second thoughts, she started to knit me a jumper when i was 9, she dug it out the other day, it had no sleeves, so resembled a tank top, 19 years on im still waiting!

People often offer, because they think it,s never going to happen! It very often doesn,t!

Get your professional welder friend to give you some lessons, then do the car yourself!
