Struggling to find tyres to fit your Mog?
I was. But there is light on the horizon. Amazingly enough for this low-profile world there is a modern car that shares the same 145R14 tyres of the Minor. It's the Audi A2. My reliable fitter, who remembers the days of multiple manufacturers for Mog tyres, thinks that it will provide us with a bit more choice in future.

The "Three litre" Volkwagen Lupo also has that size of tyre.
Three litres refers to its fuel consumption, not its engine size. And thereby hangs a tale...

What?! The 1.2Tdi A2 (the weird/er economy version like the 3L Loopy) might have such silly-sized tyres, but it was only officially sold in Europe, IIRC.
I know the standard cars had 15, 16 and 17" rubber, generally in odd sizes such as 185/50R16V. Tend not to be cheap either, because they're strange sizes.

I was wondering if it was a new derivative of the car as it has been on the market for a number of years already and i would have expected replacement tyres to be available by now.
We live in hope.

Never had a problem getting tyres. They are advertised in Minor matters from various Minor parts suppliers.
There's about 3 makes still in manufacture as far as I'm aware.
The 3L Lupo / A2 was never sold in the UK (I designed some of it's bits). The tyres were produced with ultra low rolling resistance, and as a consequence they are not as grippy as standard tyres!
The normal A2 itself never sold in big numbers in the UK - you will see more Minors than A2's anyway. The UK versions of the Lupo only go down as far as 155/14 as far as I know. Being able to get 155 tyres is pretty handy for anyone with Van rims
but I'd never put them on a 3.5" saloon rim (I'm not even sure if that would be legal, although plenty of people use them)

Oh! I like that! RAY casually mentions that 'he designed some of the parts"
