brake fluid

Although I reset the brake shoes on my Minor I had to top up my brake fluid reservoir. I checked for leakes on the complete brake system. No leaks found.
It shouldn't "use" brake fluid? Or is it acceptable to top up the reservoir occasionally?
Cheers,
Rein

if it was toped up before and you have to top up again you must be losing fluid some where

One area that can leak and is hard to find until it is a big leak... is the master cylinder itself.
It may be a good idea keep an eye on the level quite regularly

I had same problem with my car - turned out to be master cylinder was leaking.
Remove the small plate covering the master cylinder and you and then easilly see if that is where the leak is comming from.

Or if you have servo - they can swallow fluid. usually shows as puff of white smoke just after using the brakes.

Thanks
Next time I check the fluid level (in the not too distant future) I will check and see if the area close to the master brake cylinder is dry.
