Glasgow Motorway Signs

When you are driving through Glasgow, the motorway signs are a friendly set. They're always talking to you, throughout the year. Examples include:
Keep Your Distance
Don't Drink and Drive
Watch Your Speed
Use Your Seatbelt
Don't Drive Tired
Check Your Fuel
Be A Courteous Driver!
I'm just waiting for the one that says "Stop reading these pigging signs and watch the road!"

Many ,many moons ago I saw a sign at some roadworks between Thirsk and Middlesborough on the A19 It said something like
Do'y kern wer y ga'in
Dad translated it as 'watch how you go'.
It made me wonder if more local dialect signs couldn't be handy.
Down here we could have something like this over summer
'beware Grockels next 15 miles
'
With regard to the motorway signs. Down here they even warn you whats going on hundreds of miles away.
Last Thursday the sign on the M27 eastbound warned of the M25 junc27-30 being closed. Thats about 120 miles away!

That sounds more like Scottish than from the North East
I've lived in this area all my life and wouldn't know what that meant

As a Glaswegian living in exile in Stevenage, great to see pictures of the transport Museum at Kelvingrove again. I first saw the wee blue imp when I was about 7 or 8 years old (I'm now 42!). Also remember on my way to primary school a house with a green imp and a mustard imp, neither of which ever started "on the button". I can remember thinking at the time how much better moggies are!!! I'm sure Imp enthusiasts would beg to differ)

Stag,
Were you aware that the Transport Museum has started building a new museum by the riverside? Apparently it's necessary given the problems they have in maintaining a constant temperature in the current building. Only problem is that they're moving to smaller premises, and some of the exhibits will be lost.

Some nice photo's there Graham
The subtitles on your slideshow ask on one car, what's this...
It's the yellow car XLL ... , I think it may be an NSU.. I had one similar to that shape in the early 70's, water cooled engine and was a flying machine in it's day

Onne , I have a two car garage (Morris and Rover), and a two-car driveway (Jaguar and Mrs T's Megane).
But I'd gladly move house to store a few more museum pieces!!!

The yellow one is a rear engined renault 8
NSU's were 2 drs but very similair rear engined boxiness
Simca did something similair to the Renault but with a straight bonnet line.
The Vanden Plas Princess (looks like an Austin 1300 with big grill) will be 1300 if after about 1967/1968
