Lock on 4 door

Hi,
I have a 4-door Minor -59.
On my car it is only possible to Lock the right front door with the key
,this is not very practical since the driverside is the left side since I live in sweden..
So every time I unlock the car I have to do it from the passengerside and strech in to reach the handle on driversside.
My question is:
Has there ever been a Minor 4door with a lock (that you can open with a key) for the left door?

I'm afraid the only cars I know that have a passenger side (to us) door lock are late 2 doors.
When did Sweden change over to left hand drive? was it 1960 or earlier?

Hi,
we changed from driving on the leftside to the right side 3Sept 1967 but the cars has always had the drivers side on the left side of the car.
Rupert thats my question if there ever was a lock on the left side because the export model of the minor as long as there where sold here(1962) in sweden didn't had any lock on the left side.

They were made. But are extremely rare and sought after.
Some of the last LCVs had them on both sides

My 1968 two door has key locks on both doors but my 1969 four door only had a lock on the drivers side.

I think all the later 2dr and travellers had them on both sides.

Seems unlikely that the late travs (made in B'ham) had two and the LCVs (same factory) didn't, but it could be the case, I guess

but they use different doors Andrew, with very different handles.

How so, out of interest? OK, the B pillars are very different, but surely the locks are the same? Very happy to be wrong, btw, I'd just like to know how they differ. I've always wondered why they weren't fitted across the board

to save cost I am sure
The locks on 4dr doors are in the handle, as you know
On a two door they are below the door.
The LHD export cars and CKDLHD cars certainly had them.

On the subject of locks, is it possible to get a driver's door lock for a 2-dr that locks from the inside, like the passenger door? There is a hole in the right place in my door with a rubber bung in. Are the locks different or is it just a case of fitting a suitable lever?

I guess you could fit a lever. I don't know how though
