Having finally successfully bled the brakes, I've got about half a jam jar of brake fluid. Can I mix this with the old engine oil and pour the lot into the recycle tank at the dump (sorry recycling centre) or does it have to be dealt with separately and if so how??

Well, unless the council start collecting brake fluid, I don;t see any alternative! ;-) not that I would recommend this or do this myself of course ;-)

When I took some old oil and brake fluid to my local tip, I was told to pour the oil and fluid into the same tank.

I always put the brake fluid in my old engine oil and dispose of it at the local council reclaimation centre.

What do the council do with it? Just curious? And is it okay to throw the old plastic oil cans into the plastic recycling bag? (We get bags from the council for both cardboard/paper and for plastic and metal.)

There is usually a bin for used containers, by the oil tanks.
btw; what's a bouncy castle artist, I thought you just pumped it up, then ducked!

I doubt it. I think things like oil, antifreeze and bleach are no-no's for recycling with my local council.

Perhaps it involves tins of paint and a Jackson Pollock style canvas.
