tracking down previous owners

My 1967 MM has had 8 previous owners (which I guess isn’t too bad after 40 years) according to the new log book.
On the old buff log book you were given names and addresses of the previous owners but as you know this is not the case now.

What I would like to do is try to track down as many previous owners as possible and research the car’s history hopefully with stories to tell and what would be nice is any old previous owners photos with the car.

Can anyone tell me if that is possible through the DVLA without infringing peoples rights to privacy, if so how do I go about it?

Hi Jay

If you are the current registered keeper of a vehicle you can request information about earlier keepers on application. A fee of £5 applies for this service. You should complete the relevant sections on the V888 form and send the form with the fee to Vehicle’s Fee Paying Enquiries Section, DVLA, Swansea SA99 1AJ.
