Following on from a previous post, how did you guys and girls strip back the rust and paint when restoring/repairing your moggies.
Thanks
Mark

I used Nitromors gunk on the paint. Very rough 'production paper' and
various rotary wire brushes and abrasive discs on the rusty areas.

I'm getting my MM series media blasted, but have used most of the above methods to remove paint/rust. When I stripped a vinyl roof off a Minor I was spraying, I resorted to the flame from an oxy acetylene torch (very carefully and set low)

Well.... I did about 99% of the sprite with various rotary abrasive stuff, but I also sandblasted a load of the bits I couldnt reach with them. The best abrasive thing i found was a product called Face-off by irwin, not cheap but I got them at a discount store so they were! Basically resin impregnated kevlar and they work pretty quickly... probably need 6 or 7 to do a whole shell.
When it was back to bare metal I painted the whole lot with hammerite kurust let it dry, sanded it back and primed it!
