Hi all just wanted to share my despair, today I started taking off the paint off the petrol tank with a wirebrush on a grinder, the tank looked solid but when the paint started being taken off I found the upper panel of the tank full of tiny pin holes and the rest of the metal looked like orange peel, guess that's badly corroded huh? :S hope the spare tank I have lying somewhere in the garage isn't like it. I was so sad!! :(

Better now than when a spark lands on it later and the whole thing explodes! Count this as your lucky day. In fact twice lucky - the idea of using a rotary wire brush (SPARKS) on a fuel tank is ....... let's just say ' not wise' !!

you know if your lucky, and ive seen it done to much confusion lol....if you welding closed to your open petrol tank with minimal petrol in, ie about 2ps worth in, it`ll ignite and your car will run for a tiny bit lol
