Isnt that one of those games where you try to knock a bunch of sticks over by throwing a ball at them and then someone else tries to stop you with a larger stick and when you get tired of it you have a tea break with cucumber sandwiches

There are two teams, one IN and one OUT etc etc.
Actually there are two teams, one WINS and the other is DOWN-AND-OUT.

Not interested in the slightest - just slightly concerned that the EBC (whom gets huge amounts of revenue from all in the UK) makes such a big deal of it.

Congratulations to Australia - they played superbly and did us like a kipper. However, I am dismayed at the lack of effort shown by the English team who gave up all too easily. I agree with Mr Boycott that the current players who received their MBEs after their victory should return them.

I watch it every evening on the BBC. But being Dutch seem never getting a grip on the rules. Just enjoying the play and the parts I understand. Sorry for England as I support them obviously. It's my humble opinion that the Australians play the game very well, but the players as their ordiance just haven't got the 'sophistigation' for this game

... Well, better luck next year !

The problem is that we Brits need a sport based on rain. Inventing a game where rain stops play is just asking for us to be bad at it as we'll never get to practice like those in sunny countries.
Wind has been embraced for sailing, snow for skiiing, sun for beach volleyball so Rainsport is the logical conclusion.
So, get your thinking caps on, and imagine a rain-based sport with a following like surfing. Players watch the weather forecast looking for storms then head out on rain safari. "Rain's up in Walsall dudes, grab your gear".
Schoolchildren get sent out onto the playground if it rains, not brought in to the classrooms, and hone their sports skills. (Or has the EU banned this under Health and Safety). Then we'd be world class.

Well from personnal experience I would say Car Maintenance could be an outdoor rain based sport.
Everytime I need to do something it P**'s down.
How about something simple. Rain collecting.
2 teams of 5 say run around holding 2 buckets each and after 30 mins the team with the most water wins.
It could have all the standard trappings of modern sport, Television statistics, 4th official watching out for proffesional fouls, drugs tests and someone to check the water is actually rain water and not from some other source.
You could also then have the cricket like problem of Lack of rain stops play.

Talking about games reminds me that I must get some stronger line for my fishing rod
