Head Gasket... which way up??

Post by Matt »

Im changing the head on the minor, and have a copper gasket. Its copper on one side, and i think steel on the other. Which way up should it go? (My memory says copper up)

your memory is right. Copper side up.

It should say something like front on it anyway, so you can't mix it up :D

It really doesn't matter - just make sure the oil way to the rockers lines up ok - but usually there are two holes in the gasket so one of them lines up either way round.
